Love is by its own nature is unconditional.
It is without possessions, dependencies, attachments,
or any concept of a separate "self."
It does not cling to anything, and is therefore not subject
to frustration, envy, anger, jealousy, disappointment, or sorrow.
It does not pursue anything,
and therefore does not fear anything.
It is freedom.
Our problems are not with love,
but with the things we call love,
which are, in reality, craving, clinging,
depending, projecting, manipulating,
trying to own, and trying to control.
We may try to justify these in a wide assortment of ways,
but still they bring endless misery.
They are the process by which we torture ourselves,
unknowingly, out of habit and ignorance.
Love has nothing to do with these things.
It is beauty and joy beyond measure.
